Tirimoana win with Westie Pies

The first winning school for the Westie Pies Grab a Game competition has been announced.

Tirimoana School was announced as the first winner of the $1,000 sports gear prize at a special school assembly last Thursday afternoon. Blues players Michael Little, Tevita Li and Matt Vaega were on hand to congratulate the school and hand over the prize as well as a special Blues Buddy shirt to prize winner, Michael Kirkwood-Gemmell .

The players then joined pupils out on the field for some rugby drills and an autograph session.

Tirimoana School pupil Michael attended the Blues v Highlanders game at Eden Park at the end of February. His dad then went over to http://www.westiepies.co.nz/ and entered his ticket number to put the school’s name in the draw.

It’s a competition designed to encourage sports and active lifestyles amongst primary schools in and around Auckland. Each ticket to a Blues home game becomes an entry in to the draw to win $1,000 worth of sports gear for a school.

Every entry also goes in the draw for the $15,000 Grand Sports Gear prize for the school.
