Josh comes from the mighty Taniwha region of Northland. A promising player from Kawakawa, he was schooled at Mount Albert Grammar in Auckland, earning selection to the NZ Schools side in 2013.
Josh spent some time in England before returning home to make his debut for the Northalnd Taniwha in 2015. He played in all five games for the New Zealand Under-20 side in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship win in 2015 alongside twin brother, and now Crusader, Jack.
Josh has represented the Blues 6 times since his debut against the Hurricanes in 2017. His hard graft and athleticism for the Blues and the Taniwha saw him earn a place in the New Zealand Barbarians to play the British & Irish Lions in his provincial home in Whangarei.
Having amassed an impressive number of representative honours 23 years old, Josh is one to keep your eyes on. The big lock from the far North made strong progress with the Blues in 2018 until injury and then concussion brought a premature end ot his 2018 Super Rugby season. He is a mobile lock who will look forward to a healthy 2019 Season.
