The North Harbour captain and former New Zealand U20 representative has become known for his strong passing game, decisiveness in open play and attacking style of rugby. He captained the St Peter’s College First XV in 2010.

Hall has faced a number of injury setbacks over recent years. He broke his jaw while playing for Northcote Rugby Club in 2013, followed by glandular fever. Bryn returned to the field in 2014 with a breakout Blues season, replacing Piri Weepu as starting halfback. 2015 once again brought injury struggles when he broke the fifth metatarsal of his left foot while playing for Northcote.

The injuries seem to have galvanised this driven young player, who returned to captain North Harbour in 2015. At the end of the 2016 season, Bryn took up a contract with the Crusaders.
