Blues hooker James Parsons has joined the All Blacks for their northern tour.
Parsons, who played for North Harbour in theITM Cup, was the starting hooker for the Barbarians in their match against Australia at Twickenham at the weekend.
He comes into the All Blacks as a replacement for Nathan Harris, who will return to New Zealand after suffering a leg injury in the match against USA in Chicago at the weekend.
Canterbury back Colin Slade replaces an injured Cory Jane in the All Blacks after also playing for the Barbarians at the weekend, the side guided by Blues head coach Sir John Kirwan.
Parsons, who has 37 caps for the Blues, was delighted with the call-up.
“Thanks for all the messages of support. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the week ahead,” Parsons said on twitter.
