Robin Brooke

Robin Brooke played some outstanding rugby at lock, especially in the highly successful first two or three seasons. He also provided effective leadership during difficult circumstances in 1999-2001, even though in 2000-01 his international career had come to an end. He finished with 63 Super appearances.

Meet the Blues at the 2017 Royal Easter Show

Fresh off the back of signing autographs and posing for dozens of selfies after our match against the Western Force last weekend, we’re giving Blues fans another opportunity to meet some of your favourite players. That’s right. The annual Royal Easter Show is coming to town and we’re going to be there from Friday 14 […]

Steven Luatua

Steven Luatua is an impressive loose forward and leader who garnered international honours at a young age, valued for his impressive physique, power and skill. The Mt Albert Grammar old boy made the NZ Secondary Schools team in 2010, the same year that he was selected for the Auckland provincial squad. He played a key […]

Zinzan Brooke

Zinzan Brooke, though in the twilight of his illustrious career as one of New Zealand’s greatest No 8s, had the distinction of leading the Blues to their first two championship wins in 1996-97, playing with his trademark flair and flamboyance, despite beginning to battle age and injuries which caused him to miss some games. Force reckoned with at Eden Park

The embattled Western Force were a force to be reckoned with at Eden Park tonight, eventually going down 24-15 thanks to some excellent Blues tries at crucial times. The Aussies, no doubt motivated by speculation that they may be dropped from the Investec Super Rugby competition under the suggested new format, dominated possession early. In […]

Rupeni Caucaunibuca

Rupeni Caucaunibuca appeared all too briefly for the Blues, just 14 games in 2002-04. But that was enough to prove that he was one of the most gifted wings to ever play the game. He scored 15 tries in 14 games, including a spectacular hat-trick in 2004 against the Crusaders.  In 2003 ‘Caucau’ lit up the World Cup, almost beating Scotland single-handed. […]

Strong A-team named to face Canes

Northland lock Josh Goodhue will captain a strong Blues A side in this weekend’s KFC curtain raiser against the Hurricanes development team. The side features Rene Ranger at centre, Kara Pryor at openside, and four players who have been named in the New Zealand U20 squad to travel to the Gold Coast next month for […]

Eroni Clarke

Eroni Clarke played probably his best rugby at provincial level for Auckland and at Super Rugby level for the Blues. Between 1991 and 2002, he played 150 games for the team, occasionally as captain. The hard running, hard tackling midfielder was unlucky to receive just 10 caps with the All Blacks, yet he remained loyal to the Blues and a strong influence on the team during its first five seasons.
