Blues stretched for Stormers clash

Injuries, suspension and bereavement have cut deep into the Blues’ stocks as Pat Lam has been forced to call two players from the Wider Training Group into the 22 to face the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday morning (kick-off 6.10am NZT).
With Rene Ranger facing a two week suspension for a dangerous tackle on the Bulls’ Bjorn Basson and fellow backs Michael Hobbs, Isaia Toeava, Rudi Wulf and George Moala all back in New Zealand, Auckland midfielder Hadleigh Parkes and Sevens star Ben Lam will provide cover on the bench.
David Raikuna replaces Rene Ranger on the wing in one of two enforced changes to the starting XV, with Anthony Boric also ruled out of the match with a neck injury as Filo Paulo makes his first appearance of the season at lock.
After a fine performance last week, Gareth Anscombe continues his starting role at first five-eighths flanked by the experienced Piri Weepu and Ma’a Nonu.
The Blues team to face the Stormers at Newlands Stadium on Saturday morning (kick-off 6.10am NZT) is:
Unavailable – Jerome Kaino, Michael Hobbs, Isaia Toeava, George Moala, Tony Woodcock, Rudi Wulf, Anthony Boric and Rene Ranger
