BEST & FAIREST (Selected by Mediaworks)

5 Points: Charlie Faumuina
Strong in set piece and quite brilliant for a big man around the field- making plenty of metres with the ball and defending powerfully.

3 Points: Charles Piutau
Found a home in the midfield, with some telling breaks and kept All Black counterpart Conrad Smith in check.

1 Point: Steven Luatua
Huge work rate in both defence and attack. Ran powerfully with the ball, and ran himself to a standstill on defence.

WHAT THE COACH HAD TO SAY:
We showed significant improvement in some key areas. Our defence let us down at times and we let them away to a fast start and then let them back into the game with that try before halftime.
The forwards were outstanding again and we showed real improvement in the backs once we got into the game.
The bye will give us the chance to regroup and if we continue to work and gain confidence we can match anyone in this competition.
Sir John Kirwan

WHAT THE PLAYERS HAD TO SAY:
The effort is there we just need to keep working harder. It is not luck we need. We need to keep working harder. We are definitely all behind eachother and the mood is good but we can and will improve.
