Outstanding form in Super Rugby and the Mitre-10 Cup has been rewarded with Matt Duffie selected for the All Blacks’ Northern Tour to England, France, Wales and Scotland.
Duffie is one of six Blues players selected and the only new cap among the outside backs named for the Tour.
The 27 year old, who has played 21 times for the Blues, joins his fellow Super teammates Ofa Tuungafasi, Patrick Tuipulotu, Jerome Kaino, Sonny Bill Williams and Rieko Ioane in the All Blacks tour team.
Duffie moved back to rugby with the Blues in 2016 after a successful career in the NRL for the Melbourne Storm and is set to become a double international after playing for the Kiwis in 2011. He has also represented the national team in Australian Rules as a teenager.
The All Blacks will play five games on their Northern Tour comprising the Barbarians at Twickenham (4 November), France in Paris on 11 November, a French XV at Lion on 14 November, Scotland at Murrayfield on 18 November and Wales at Cardiff on 25 November.
