Blues’ Lions jersey unveiled for Chiefs match

Adidas has unveiled the special edition jerseys that will be worn by New Zealand’s Super Rugby teams during the upcoming British and Irish Lions series.

The Blues jersey will be worn for the first time in this Friday’s round-two clash with the Chiefs in Hamilton, before we become the first Investec Super Rugby club to take on the British and Irish Lions at Eden Park on 7 June.

Featuring a distressed map design of the entire Blues region, adidas rugby senior director Simon Cartwright said the jersey was a visual representation of the pride our team had in its territory.

“What’s become very clear to us in our conversations with team leaders is that losing this battle is not an option,” he said. “So we want to arm all teams with everything the need to defend their territories.”

New Zealand Rugby’s DHL NZ Lions Series general manager Nigel Cass added: “The fixtures involving the British & Irish Lions and Super Rugby teams are unique and will be remembered for years to come.

“It’s great that the teams will wear adidas special edition jerseys for these matches and we’re confident they will prove popular among fans.”

The special edition Super Rugby jerseys are available in kids and men’s sizes, priced at $110 RRP and $150 RRP respectively.

Tickets are still available for our historic match against the British and Irish Lions at Eden Park on 7 June.
